Measure Your Oil

If you would like to check the level of oil in your oil storage tank, use a long wooden pole to insert vertically all the way to the bottom of the tank. Remove the pole and measure the length of the wet portion in inches. Find the size of your tank on the chart below. Use the column for either H [Horizontal] or V [Vertical] depending on the way your tank is installed. Look down the Inches column first to the number of inches you measured, then across that row to your tank size, H or V. The number at the intersection is the approximate gallons of oil in your tank.

Southern Maryland heating oil consumers need only to complete a short online form eliminating paper. AUTOMATIC DELIVERY: Customers may sign up for automatic home heating oil or K 1 kerosene delivery. They may elect to enroll in the Ceiling Price Plan, which guarantees the lowest possible prices during the season.
